Australia is finally building a large-scale sun farm

In a historic day for Australian renewable energy, permits have formally been approved for a 30 Megawatt PV “sun farm” in Kerang, Victoria.
The system will produce enough electricity to offset the usage of over 14,000 Australian homes.

Whilst it has been revealed that Australia installed more domestic PV solar systems than any other country in the world in 2011, large-scale “sun farms” such as this have yet to take off in Australia. However, with the Kerang system formally approved, no doubt more are to come.
